Pumpkin Farm

This weekend was the first weekend of Sinkland Farms Pumpkin Festival this fall. And just like the past 3 years, we (Hodges Photography) were there preserving the memories of the event through photography. It was a beautiful weekend for being outside, and there was a great turnout considering it was only the first week. We took LOTS of pictures. Face Book!

Okay, I have been a member of Facebook for a few months now with absolutely no activity, until today...
I don't know what happened but my whole Facebook "world" is like blossoming before my eyes. It is so fun reconnecting with people you don't see very often or hardly ever, and it is great to learn more about the people you see all the time too. But it is definitely a time-waster! I do have plenty of work to keep me busy, so I need to tone down the Facebook play a notch or two before it gets out of control. But "all work and no play, makes me a dull girl" right??

Back to School

This week we started back to school! It was a practice week really. With five kids of various ages ranging from 10 months to 12 years old, you need a “practice week” for things like school J. We worked on getting up on time, staying on schedule (making sure the schedule in my head was going to work), looking at the new school books, and just figuring out what everyone’s role is for the new school year. It went pretty well; the kids are excited about their new books and ready for a more structured schedule, so we are off to a good start. Now to print out the adjusted and revised daily schedule, so everyone knows what they should be doing throughout the day—6 people is just too many for me to manage without a written plan if we want to get anything done in a day! I also need to flesh out some lesson plans so they can be printed out on mornings when I am just too busy to tell everyone how many pages of grammar to do for the day.

The “busy”ness is coming back all too quickly. This weekend is the kick-off “Jamboree” for one of the big sports leagues that we do pictures for. It marks the official beginning of football, cheerleading, and soccer seasons. That means lots of photo shoots, tons of pictures, and mounds of work to do over the next few week. It’s all good—better to be busy than to be bored!

Sick, sick, SICK!!! That is how we have been the past couple of eeks around here. It started out with the 4 year old getting croup, and then quickly spread to me and the twelve year old. And when you have a family of 7 it takes a while for a cold virus to work its way through everyone until it finally leaves for good!. We are still dealing with a few random coughs and runny noses here and there, but all in all, we are on the mend.
By the way...I am loving the new computer...for the most part. Vista can be a little bit of a pain sometimes, but Ir really like the new design of Office 2007--at least now that I am getting used to it--it is way different than my old Office 200 :-)
I think I am about done with baseball pics--good thing since it is almost time for football season! I will have to place one more trading card order, but it will only be for 3 or 4 sets. I am still waiting for the most recent order to come in so that I can mail them out to my ever so patient--hopefully--customers.
We are gearing up for school to start back next week if all goes according to plan. Although, at the moment I am still waiting for the school books that I ordered to come in. If you haven't guessed, I get a LOT of UPS deliveries around here--anybody need any cardboard boxes???

Just got the ew computer up and running! I must say, it is pretty SWEET!!! It will take a while to get all the software installed and the files transfered over, but I know my work wll go a lot faster and be a lot easier on this nnew machine. Thanks Hubby :-)

Okay, I know it's been a while. I won't bore you with the details. Instead I will just pick up with where I am right now.
Thank goodness baseball/softball season is over! I am still knee deep in picture orders, but at least the job of taking the team pictures is behind us. Hopefully by the end of this week I will be caught up somewhat so that I can spend a little more time with the kids and getting the house back in working order before summer vacation i a thing of the past :-)
Well I guess I am not getting any work done by sitting here typing this blog, so I'd better get my day into gear and get some work done.
